I hadn't originally planned on writing anything about the gorgeous hotel I'm currently staying in but it's been so lovely, I felt I had to share!  If you're ever planning a holiday here, hopefully this will be useful.

I’m currently on my first holiday of the year!  Yes, I do realise it’s October and I’ve left it a bit late but after a year of living away from London, I’ve been enjoying the “staycation” recently.  Although with the weather about to tip into winter I thought I’d catch a few final rays and head to beautiful Mykonos.

San Giorgio is on a secluded hilltop on Paraga Beach.  The views are quite honestly out of this world and when the sun is shining (which has basically been the entire trip) the sea glistens as if it’s a mirror.  I’m currently writing this looking at this view! Seriously, could I ask for a better office set up?!

The weird thing about San Giorgio is the website (click HERE to be taken to it) doesn’t do the place justice.  It’s so much more breathtaking in real life.  The whole hotel is beautifully designed (it is a member of Design Hotels) and looks so much lighter and fresher in reality.  The best way to describe it is bohemian, easy breezy chic.  The vibe is very relaxed and carefree.  It reminds me of a less busy, more stylish Ibiza.  Oh, and everyone is absolutely gorgeous here!

The rooms are simple and a touch on the rustic side.  They’re typical of that beautiful Grecian island style; think whitewashed walls, traditional shutters and tiled floors.  The bed is overflowing with pillows and although on the firm side, I’ve slept like a baby all stay.  My only complaint is the lack of full-length mirror!

Everything feels very organic and natural, even the soaps and shampoos contain no nasty chemicals or artificial ingredients.

Our room has a sweet little balcony with table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a glass of rose and watching one of Mykonos’s incredible sunsets.

The hotel surroundings are spectacular, so if you’re not one for laying by the pool all day…

…there’s plenty to explore, whether it be scurrying up huge rocks with incredible views or seeking out rock pools.

I highly recommend finding a high up spot (of which there are plenty dotted around the hotel) and heading there just before sunset with a picnic and bottle of something lovely.  We did this on the second night and it was truly magical!

We stayed “off-season” which personally I loved.  The hotel was at 50% occupancy giving it a very relaxed vibe.  There’s no fight for sunbeds and the staff are super attentive given they aren’t having to serve a full house.  You can walk around the picturesque white-washed outbuildings without seeing another person.  The only downside with this time of year is most of the beach clubs and bars are closed.  Although if you’re looking for a relaxing holiday rather than a party one, this is definitely the time to come.

  1. Mykonos looks absolutely fab! Especially this hotel you’re staying at. I plan to visit Santorini next year and I can’t wait. Originally Greece wasn’t going to be part of my travel plans but I’ve always wanted to visit so I decided while I’m over there- I have to do it!

Hope you’re having the most relaxing time! Enjoy!

  2. Oh, wow, this looks absolutely stunning! Me and the girls are currently planning our after-Bachelor trip to celebrate getting our degrees and Mykonos is high on that list. Although with 10 girls we´re probably going more for a whole house instead of a hotel. Definitely saving this for a later time though, I can definitely imagine staying there on a different occasion as well.
