I am delighted to officially announce there are massive changes afoot for That New Dress.

Back in February I did a post titled Life Update (catch it HERE).  In a nutshell, I was talking about changes that were happening in my personal life and the effects it was having on That New Dress.  I talked about how I’d started my own business and how all consuming it was.  I’m so happy to say six months on I’ve got much better at balancing a busy business and I have a renewed energy when it comes to this blog.

I am delighted to officially announce there are massive changes afoot for That New Dress.  I will be overhauling this blog, launching a YouTube channel and reassessing all my social media platforms.

I wanted to give you an insight into a few of the changes coming up, so I can get some early feedback on the kind of content you’d enjoy seeing on this blog, YouTube and social media.

That New Dress YouTube

In my Life Update post I mentioned earlier, I wrote this:

I love sharing fashion and styling but I’m less in love with sharing my daily life.  Don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan of the bloggers who do, it’s just not for me.  I think this is a big reason venturing into YouTube has never appealed.

So, it is somewhat of a surprise, even to me(!), that I will be taking the plunge and launching a That New Dress YouTube channel at the end of this month!  The truth is content is becoming more and more video focused, and as I much as I prefer blogging, in this “influencer” industry you need to evolve with the times.

A lot of the type of content I’ve been putting on the blog will now be done on my channel instead.  For example, shopping hauls, Q&As, in-depth designer reviews and unboxings will now all be done in video form.

Being completely candid, I am terrified about this YouTube journey, so I’ve been working around the clock to make sure my videos are to the absolute highest standard they can be.  I reallyyy hope that anyone who has followed That New Dress over the last 4 and a half years will join me over on YouTube.  I will sharing the link to subscribe next week, along with an amazing giveaway to celebrate its launch!

That New Dress Blog

A brand spanking new blog is set to go live on 1st November.  The point of the revamp is that take That New Dress into its next chapter.  Having turned 30 this year, I feel like I’ve grown up hugely and it makes sense to evolve the blog with me.

Not only will the overall look of the blog be changing but also the content.  As I mentioned earlier, a lot of the type of blogposts I’ve been doing, such as hauls and unboxings, will now be shared on YouTube instead.  This means I can start to make the blog more personal and advice driven.  I want share my thoughts and tips on different topics, ranging from starting a business to mental health to managing life after a break up or let down.

With all that being said, I would love to hear any thoughts or ideas you have on future content.  If there’s anything you’re keen to read about or any personal experiences you’d like me to share, let me know.

That New Dress Facebook

The That New Dress Facebook Page is by far my most neglected social media platform.  I do have some ideas on how to spruce it up and make it a lot more interesting, however, it would be useful to know if anyone actually cares about Facebook anymore?

Personally, I’m more likely to follow someone either on Instagram or Twitter.  Are you the same as me or do you still enjoy a good ol’ Facebook page?  If you are a Facebook fan you can catch my Facebook Page HERE.

That New Dress Instagram and That New Dress Twitter

My Instagram and Twitter page will pretty much stay the same as they currently are.  I will be a lot more active on Twitter as a whole but it will be similar content to what I’m doing already.

If you don’t follow me on Instagram or Twitter and would like to, my social media handles for both are @thatnewdress.

As I’m still in the midst of developing the blog and YouTube channel, things might be a slightly less active on here for the next couple of weeks, but trust me, with all these fab changes happening, it will be well worth the wait!

Don’t forget you can also keep up with me in the meantime on Instagram @thatnewdress, Twitter @thatnewdress, Bloglovin That New Dress, Snapchat thatnewdress and Depop @dominiquew

  1. Good luck with the YouTube side of it! I did try it a while back, but I couldn’t keep up with it as the filming content and editing videos took me 10x longer than blog posts and photos, and since I had that to do on top of blog work, I couldn’t commit lol. I’m excited about your YouTube though! YAY!

  2. I also feel that way about Youtube, I have an account there and I follow many persons but I don’t have the courage to post and expose myselft that way. I will follow you on that platform too, can’t wait to do it.

  3. This is all such exciting news! I am so looking forward to checking out your YouTube channel. I’m terrified of the platform as well and know I need to branch out from travel vlogs but it’s just SO DAUNTING. I’m hoping your bravery and talent for it will wear off on me a bit. I’m so happy that you’ve found balance between your business and blog. That is a huge accomplishment!

  4. Looks like exciting times ahead, can’t wait to see the fruits of all your hard labour.
