By covering up a bit more skin and offsetting the tightness of the dress with something light and flowing I think it reinvents an outdated look.

I think we all fall victim to fashion fads at some point or another.  The fashion faux pas I really embraced in the past was the bodycon dress.  I have way too many Herve Leger dresses and spent far too much on them.  These days they rarely see the light of day and I never wear them out and about in London anymore.  It’s such a shame given how much I loved and treasured them at one point so recently I’ve been thinking about how I can renew them.

While in Ibiza the other day I tried to shake off that dated WAG look by layering a long sleeve lace top over a strapless Herve number.  By covering up a bit more skin and offsetting the tightness of the dress with something light and flowing I think it reinvents an outdated look.

Layering clothes and textures up shouldn’t be something we do purely in the winter.  I love taking something glam and pairing it down with a casual jacket and trainers making it wearable for the day.

I tried to keep the look in keeping with the Ibizan spirit by teaming it with some summer flats (rather then sky high heels we’re so use to seeing with this type of dress) and a boho tassel necklace.
