I'm even more beauty obsessive during the summer as bare legs, open toe shoes and off the shoulder tops call for lots more pruning and maintenance!

It’s August already and it feels like Summer has only just arrived!  Finally, we’ve got to enjoy some really glorious days (many of which fell on the weekend, hurrah!).  Now that the sun has got it’s hat on I thought I’d share my 5 favourite summer beauty must haves.

I’m even more beauty obsessive during the summer as bare legs, open toe shoes and off the shoulder tops call for lots more pruning and maintenance!

Soft & Gentle Shower & Shave Mousse

Shaving has to be the biggest bane of summer but unfortunately there’s no getting around this one.  Thankfully, this shave mousse makes the whole process super easy.  This stuff really foams up, so a little goes a long way and my razor just glides through.  It is pH balanced so you can use it for your bikini area with absolutely no irritation.  Also, pick it up quickly as it’s currently half price in Boots and Superdrug which makes this the bargain of the summer!

Fake Bake – Gradual Self-Tan Lotion in Fair

I was very late to the fake tanning party and only started embracing it in my late 20s.  I’m pretty comfortable with having paler skin.  Plus as I got older, frying myself in the sun just stopped being appealing and now I’ve discovered this from Fake Bake there is no going back!  This is perfect for those with fair skin who are apprehensive about looking like an overgrown oompa lumpa.  It’s super easy to apply, I’ve used the gloves included which are fine but I prefer applying with a mitt to ensure a streak free finish.  Plus there is no orange in sight, just a lovely subtle glow.

Caudalie – Vinosource Moisturising Matifying Fluid

Caudalie’s Mattifying Fluid is my morning moisturiser of choice throughout the summer months.  I’m not sure how I would have survived without it to be honest! It manages to provide ample hydration while providing a gorgeous velvety, matte finish which keeps my skin shine free, smooth and radiant throughout the day.  Trust me, this combined with Benefit’s POREfessional Primer is a winning summer combination.

Frezyderm – Sun Screen Velvet Second Skin Technology Face SPF 50+

This is my hands down favourite sunscreen lotion.  Firstly, it is high SPF which is essential.  I am an absolute stickler for wearing protection in the sun, as no one wants prematuring skin!  Secondly, I love how this feels on.  It has a consistency somewhere between a gel and a serum and melts into the skin to leave a velvety finish, similar to how a good quality primer feels.  You can either wear this as a base under makeup or alone as it provides a matte finish for 6 hours, absorbs sebum and softens the appearance of wrinkles.  Also, added bonus, the packaging is gorgeous!

Ren – Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist

Ren is a skincare line I’ve used on and off for years and I tend to have a love/hate relationship with their products.  Sometimes I find they’re too heavily scented or not very effective but not with this Anti-Pollution Mist.  I absolutely LOVE it!  I’ve tried a lot of these mist type products and this is hands down the best! It’s cooling on the skin (perfect in the summer heat), incredibly refreshing and smells lovely.  Plus it protects your skin from the ageing effects of environmental pollutants and harmful free radicals.  What more could you want?

  1. These all seem like such great products, girlie! I’m not familiar with any of these brands, so I’ll have to keep an eye out for them! That Soft & Gentle saving cream sounds awesome! It can be so hard to find a cream that’s moisturizing AND gets the job done. I’ve been loving EOS, but I’ll have to give this one a try! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Yes, I have tried the St Tropez mousse and I much prefer the Fake Bake personally! The Fake Bake one is much more subtle, although it is buildable but much less chance of streaks. It’s definitely worth giving it a try! xx
