I associate New York dressing with being a touch chicer and more pulled together than the London look.
During Black Friday weekend I took a mini break and headed to New York. If you follow me on Snapchat you would have seen me go all gooey eyed over my beautiful room at the stunning St. Regis hotel. If you ever want to stay somewhere jaw droppingly gorgeous, think old school New York glamour, this hotel is it. They truly treat you like a princess and even have a butler on hand to help you with whatever your heart desires.
Whenever I’m in New York I always feel like it’s my chance to play dress up. I associate New York dressing with being a touch chicer and more pulled together than the London look. It’s more suited and booted, whereas London is a bit freer and edgier.
Strutting down 5th Avenue isn’t complete without a few diamonds. I’ve talked about my love affair with London Road Jewellery before (read a full post about them HERE). I’m obsessed with anything British made but London Road Jewellery offers one better than even that. Everything is handmade in their London studio, a mere 20 minutes from where I live, using the same skills and craftsmanship for the last 3 generations.
I’m wearing their Portobello Raindrop long necklace in white gold layered with a bezel set solitaire diamond in rose gold and the 5 row stacking rings in rose gold.
If you want something special for Christmas which isn’t going to completely break the bank I really recommend checking out London Road Jewellery in general but particularly this collection. My favourite piece is the long necklace and although it’s not a small amount of money at £895 you have to remember two things. Firstly, they’re real diamonds which are not only a girl’s best friend, but also you can often pay as much for Swarovski crystals and in this case you’re getting the real deal!
Secondly and probably more importantly, a lot of these pieces, especially this necklace, is something you’ll wear for a lifetime as it’s such a classic and timeless design. It’s the sort of piece you’ll treasure and hopefully pass on to your daughters or granddaughters.
If you want something which offers plenty of versatility then the stacking ring, which also comes in white gold and yellow gold, is one to have a look at. It’s essentially five pieces of jewellery in one. I like to wear mine with all the rings stacked together one finger to make a real statement. Although you could do two on one hand and three on the other or just wear them singularly. The options really are endless.
Alternatively, the single solitaire pendant is really elegant and understated. It such as easy piece to wear and looks fab either layered with lots of other necklaces or worn alone. I really love how it stands out against my black top, it has an amazing amount of impact for something simple. If anyone would like to get me the white gold or yellow gold version for Christmas, it’d make me a very happy girly!
This gorgeous skirt is currently on sale. Needle and Thread has been on my wish list forever and after spotting this skirt on The Outnet with 50% off I knew I had to snap it up! Boy, it doesn’t disappoint! The quality and weight of this skirt is absolutely incredible. The embellishment is similar to that of high-end, designer brands. I’m already planning my next purchase as I just need more of this gorgeousness in my wardrobe!
