A Summer of Weddings

I’m at the age where my friends are taking that massive leap into adulthood and getting married which means my summer has been filled to the brim with weddings.  There is something about the “wedding dress code” that is so distinctive and unlike any other style of dressing.  Even those with minimal interest in fashion can’t help but pull on their glad rags and embrace the spirit of it.

With the summer wedding season in full swing, I thought I’d share some of my favourite looks:

Golden Girl

I love a bit of (rose) gold and a wedding is the best excuse to shimmer away and go all out!  These dresses have a slight boho vibe to them and I love the idea of championing this look by piling on the statement jewellery.

When it comes to weddings I’m a dress girl.  There is something lovely about having a new dress to help celebrate your friend’s special day.  If I’m stuck for options and in need of inspiration, Lyst is a perfect place to see a huge variety of styles and labels all in one place.  I would go as far to say as it’d be impossible not to find at least one dress you didn’t fall in love.  The next wedding I’m attending I will 100% be in one of these dresses, all of which were found on Lyst.

Glam Wedding

When I see a wedding invite with a black tie dress code/theme my heart leaps with excitement.  How often do we get the opportunity to go all out? Not very much in my case!  Full skirts or OTT embellishment are my faves for this kind of occasion.

The Best of the Rest

I know these days this is up for debate but personally I don’t think black is appropriate for weddings.  Even I who wears black and grey 90% of the time, always makes the effort to embrace colour.  If you have a colour phobia then navy blue is the perfect option.  How gorgeous is that starry navy number, while still being totally wedding appropriate!?
