This dress has got me totally pumped for warmer climates!

It has been a fabulously sunny Bank Holiday Weekend in London.  Like any Brit, when I see even the tiniest glimpse of sun, I dive straight into my summer wardrobe.  I basically want to wear every single dress I own but in the end, I settled on this cream one.

I’m fairly sure I’ve previously mentioned on the blog I enjoy winter dressing much more than summer dressing.  I am a total sucker for chunky knits, layers and oversized scarfs.  However, this dress has got me totally pumped for warmer climates!

The number of lovely compliments I received on this dress was wild!  I was pretty chuffed given it was a bit of a bargain!  I have raved so many times about discovering up and coming labels on ASOS, such as Oneon knitwear (read about it HERE) and True Decadence dresses (read about it HERE).

My most recent brand discovery, called Forever New, is another great find.  Although I am going to be completely honest, you do need to weed out quite a lot of rubbish but they also have some real treasures.

This dress was £120 which admittedly is on the higher end for ASOS.  However, you’re getting a lot of dress for the money and the quality is really good.

The floral embroidery is ornate, the sheer organza isn’t too shiny and the lining is a perfect pink.  At the time of writing, ASOS had size 6 left (see it HERE) in stock, so if you’re tempted don’t even think about it, just snap it up because it will sell out very soon!

I felt like a forest fairy floating around in it.  Sadly, being on the short side, long dresses don’t usually suit me.  I continually dream of being able to wear statement maxi dresses from Zimmermann but alas, it’s not meant to be.  I usually look like I’m 10 years old again, trying on my mum’s dresses which drag along the floor!  So, if you’re also on the short side, I highly recommend checking this brand out for full-length dresses.

The only blessing about the recent spate of cold weather we’ve endured, is people haven’t been snapping up all the best summer finds yet, so I highly advise doing your summer shop stat before all the best bits sell out.  Although there are only limited sizes left in this particular dress, I suggest you also check out the gorgeous top version of it HERE, the mini dress version of it in black HERE and this stunning metallic maxi spot dress HERE.

I am planning on putting an edit together in the next couple of days with the best summer must-haves and the best swimwear, so watch this space if you’re in need of a little shopping inspo!

Obviously, with it being the UK, you still need to take a trusty sweater with you.  I have not taken this cream cropped Miss Selfridge one since I bought it.  I purchased it on a total whim in their sale and it’s one of those purchases which has been a real winner.   I got it in a size UK12 as I wanted it to be loose and snuggly.

It is absolutely perfect for layering over dresses.  Unfortunately, this cream one has now sold out but Miss Selfridge have so many good other ones all on sale between £10-£20.  Talk about a bargain!  I am loving this grey one HERE, this soft pink HERE, powder blue HERE and amazing cream cable knit one HERE.  If you also love that mix of knitwear with pretty summer dresses, you need at least 1 or 2 of these in your summer wardrobe!

  1. Yes babe! I love this OOTD and boy oh boy do you wear it good! I can see how this got you loads of compliments. I like how you paired the Chanel shoes with it for a classic and elegant look, the sweater makes it a bit more slouchy, the bag is perfect for summer, and the belt gives it a bit of grudge and edge contradicting all the white! This couldn’t have been styles better 😀

This look is so stunning – you look so ready for summer! I love the soft texture of the dress with the hardness of the belt, gives it that little edge. And those shoes finish it perfectly <3

  3. You really do look like you’re going for Coachella. Very nice outfit. I like the dress very much but… I don’t know, paying £120 for a dress? I must be poor 😉
I am a sucker for scarfs as well, althought I do have to admit I don’t think I ever styled any right. I generally suck at scarf-styling departament, seriously.
Maybe you could write something about that, if you haven’t already.

  4. Now I can’t wait for summer to hit England just so I can see the rest of this gorgeous dress! It looks, and it’s a strange way to describe it, so magical! I also run into the issue of longer dresses hitting me at a bad place because I’m short so I can appreciate what an incredible find this was!

  5. That is such a beautiful dress and I love the cosy knit with it! 🙂 I am looking forward to doing things like this with my dresses now it’s a little cooler here. It’s been nice to have it cool down here, as it’s nearly witner, even though it’s nearly summer for you! 🙂

Hope that you are having a great weekend to end your week! 🙂

Thanks hun! I guess it depends what your priorities are, I would rather spend £120 on one dress I wear for 5+years than but 5 dress £30 on a few dresses I wear for one summer. I think it’s more about how you choose to spend your money, then about being poor or rich xx

OMG tell me about it! I felt ill about it for months and it actually made me not like them for a while. But 18 months later I’ve got over it and wear them all the time! Haha xx
