These are the most expensive jeans I have bought in a while but I can honestly say, hand on heart, they were worth every penny.  I am obsessed with them!

I’ve already shared the first half of my New York haul HERE which has all my affordable high street buys and now it’s time for my luxury finds.  Like my high street pieces, everything I picked up was on sale.

Zimmermann – Playsuit

I cannot tell you how long I’ve lusted after something from Zimmermann for, it must have been at least 5 years!  However, I couldn’t justify their extortionate prices, so you can only imagine how excited I was to discover Saks had an amazing sale on.

As soon as I stepped onto the Ready-to-Wear floor I was instantly drawn to the Zimmermann rail.  They had a teenie tiny rail of clothes which were discounted and of course, I loved everything on it!

In the end, I tried on 3 items.  First was an amazing terracotta full-length jumpsuit which was absolutely gorgeous but very summery.  It would only have been suitable either on holiday or, very sunny days, which we don’t have many of in London, so I ended up passing on that one.

The second and third pieces I tried were in the most beautiful “birds of paradise” print.  I fell in love with a full-length maxi dress, similar to this one HERE.  However, because I’m quite short, it swamped me a little.  If only I was 3-4 inches taller, I wouldn’t have been able to resist!

I ended up treating myself to this playsuit which is beautiful.  It’s classic Zimmermann with the beautiful print, ruffles and floatiness.  I can’t wait to wear it when summer rolls around, I just need to get myself a tan stat! I can only apologise for the ghostly pale legs!

Derek Lam 10 Crosby – Jeans

These are the most expensive jeans I have bought in a while but I can honestly say, hand on heart, they were worth every penny.  I am obsessed with them!

I’m planning on writing a blogpost about why I have a strict budget when it comes to buying jeans.  However, this pair is the exception to that rule.

These have to be the most flattering jeans I’ve ever bought.  Annoyingly, I’ve put on quite a bit of weight since Christmas but somehow they disguise all my lumps and bumps.

I also really like that the rips are lined with a star print fabric, it’s such a gorgeous detail.  Plus, you don’t get cold knees!

Derek Lam 10 Crosby was a brand I hadn’t heard much about before but after buying these jeans they’ve gained a big fan out of me.

Pokemaoke – Fluffy Slingbacks

This is probably the only purchase in my New York haul which I’m not 100% in love with.  I’d been looking at buying a similar pair of slingbacks for a while from Del Rio (see them HERE) but they were quite pricey and I wasn’t prepared to spend that much.

When I saw these Pokemaoke shoes in Bloomingdales on sale they seemed like a good alternative.  I thought they’d be really versatile and could be worn with jeans, dresses, shorts, etc.  However, now that I have them in my closet I’m not sure how much wear I will get out of them.

I just think they look a little odd, as they’re really flat and make my feet look really wide and stocky.  We all make mistakes occasionally when shopping, especially when shopping abroad where it’s easy to get a little too spend-happy, so I’m not beating myself up too much about this poor purchase.

Let me know what you think about them.  Also, let me know which is your favourite piece from this New York haul, either high street or luxury?

  1. OMG! That Zimmerman playsuit is GORGEOUS! I can see why you chose that one out of the 3, I would have loved to seen snaps of the other 2 that didn’t work out, but I’m so pleased you settled on this one. It’s so flattering and pretty. Their Birds of Paradise print is so nice. I also like the jeans too, I’m still yet to try anything from the brand, but these look cute! And I can understand why the shoes were a bad purchase, they look cute, but I feel like they would slop on my feet constantly with the little sling back, and quite hard to style. Great haul!

  2. Wow, congrats on finding a great deal and acquiring a fabulous haul. I have always loved the brand Zimmermann too, but like you mentioned they can be very expensive so I just admired from afar. So cool you were able to get some things from a sale, but I’m not surprised. Since I have been reading your blog you have always been a shopper that buys brands that you love but at a fraction of the cost.
