Festival Inspo Easy Breezy

As much as festivals have become a playground for fashionistas, sometimes you just want comfort first.  Festivals are quite often sticky and dusty places (or muddy if you’re in the UK) so feeling easy breezy and comfortable is a must.  Let’s be honest nothing screams comfort more than a pair of loose denim cutoffs.

I tend to buy my denim cutoffs at least one size up for two reasons.  Firstly, comfort!  The last thing you want is a pair of shorts riding up and cutting into you (ouch!).  Secondly, I find denim shorts are much more flattering when there’s room around your legs and they sit loosely on your hips.  Bulging out of a pair of jeans is much easier to hide than a pair of shorts.  Sadly, I’ve put a bit of weight on recently so this pair aren’t quite as loose as I’d like them to be but just take it from me, always size up!

This sleeveless shirt from Zaful is one of the most versatile and inexpensive (it’s currently on sale and less than $10) pieces in my wardrobe.  Obviously, it can be worn buttoned up like a conventional shirt, which does look really lovely, but my favourite way of wearing it currently is as an oversized waistcoat.  I absolutely love layering and I feel this extra touch makes the outfit more interesting and adds a cooler vibe.  Also, as this is quite a skin-baring look by adding that extra layer it gives a fashion edge rather than sexy edge which just isn’t me at all.  I definitely feel my style generally leans more towards cute than sexy!

If the sun is shining these espadrille style shoes are a great option at a festival.  They’re super comfy, breathable and most importantly they’re not open toed (read all about why that’s festival rule numero uno HERE).  Plus these look really gorgeous and are such a steal for what they are.  Comfy, pretty and a bargain(!), seriously what more can you ask for?!

It wouldn’t be a “me” outfit without a pop of “fun” so I added my super cute unicorn and rainbow shades because if you can’t get away with these at a festival, when can you?!  Also, remeber to accessorize, accessorize, accessorize when at a festival.  This kind of attention to detail is what will make your easy breezy look stand out from the crowd, all while being super comfy!

  1. This outfit is giving off major festival vibes, you look gorgeous! I absolutely would have rocked this at Coachella. Your comment about buying denim shorts a size or two bigger comes at an appropriate time. I have a festival this weekend and am planning my outfit and am cringing over the fitted denim shorts I’m gong to have to wear. I’ll definitely remember your tip in the future!

  2. I’m telling you, you have the BEST shoe collection, hands down! I’m loving those sandals, as well as your sunnies, both look so good worn in the same outfit! I also agree with your tips on purchasing shorts, they do make for a more flattering fit! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have the most amazing weekend ahead!
