I was very, very, very lucky to get my hands on some of the Balmain x H&M collaboration which was released last Thursday. Although I didn’t get the pieces I desperately wanted (that gorgeous leather jacket first and foremost), I do feel pretty fortunate I didn’t have to pay those ridiculously inflated resale prices to get a piece of this amazing collection.
I came home with the green suede biker trousers (my faves!), the Balmain t-shirts in black and white, a small green suede clutch and the jacquard weave silk dress. Sadly the dress was too small so it was returned in hope someone else would be able to snap it up and enjoy it!
I think when it comes to these suede biker trousers you either love them or hate them. Personally I love them! They look and feel like a Balmain main line piece. The shape, style and details all bare a VERY striking resemblance. Also, the quality is unbelievable. I’d happily liken the quality of the suede to that used by luxury fashion houses, rather than the usual H&M quality (I have a suede jacket from Gucci and these trousers feel identical to that).
The great thing about these trousers is how versatile they are. Depending on where you are going they can either be casual and relaxed or elegant and high fashion. I just know I’m going to be constantly wearing these, all day and all night.
For my dressed down day look I wore them with my favourite bright orange flats and added a chunky knit sweater for when it gets a little chilly. My favourite look for this Autumn/Winter is a gorgeous knit teamed with leather or suede. I love the contrast of textures and combination of cosiness paired with a slightly rock n roll edge.

For the evening I threw on my oldie but goodie Zara blazer and these insanely gorgeous rose gold heels. If like me, you couldn’t get your hands on the Balamin x H&M jackets or can’t afford the real thing, the next best option is ZARA. I’ve had this blazer since I was at University. Even back then I purchased it on the belief it looked like a Balmain. It’s a wardrobe staple and I still can’t get enough of it!

Let me know if you got anything from the hotly anticipated Balmaination in the comments and definitely send me links to how you’ve styled them up. Would absolutely love to see what twist everyone has put on their pieces!
