If you're in need of a change of scenery this is the ideal place to pack up and head for a weekend away.
My final birthday treat was a weekend city break in Copenhagen with my favourite bestie. It’s the first time I’d been to this beautiful city and I really recommend it. If you’re in need of a change of scenery this is the ideal place to pack up and head for a weekend away.
We stayed at Hotel SP34 which is in a great location, just minutes from the city centre. It has a lovely vibe, really cool interior and a great burger bar! Also, the rooms are a decent size for one of those trendy boutique style hotels.
On Saturday we soaked up everything we could that Copenhagen has to offer. We wandered through the picturesque city centre, marvelled at the beautiful architecture, sailed the canal and, of course, perused the amazing shopping.
I couldn’t help a little happy doing a happy dance when I spotted Sephora!
The city has a really bohemian, design feel to it and it oozes culture. The pace of life is very chilled and the people all seemed so happy! It definitely has a different pace of life to London.
Copenhagen is renowned for its food having the best restaurant in the world (it’s called NOMA but unfortunately we didn’t get to visit this time). Instead we spotted a small restaurant packed with locals having lunch and figured we had to try some of traditional Danish dishes. I ordered an open potato and bacon sandwich – a Danish speciality apparently (?). It was a lovely carb-y overload! Although it was the Lemonade Elderflower which really won my heart!
After lunch we headed to the canal for a boat tour which is a tourist must. It is a great way of seeing a lot more of the city in a super quick and easy way. I recommend using Netto – Boats which is the least expensive boat tour and has the exact same boats and guides as their competitors.
