Staying true to "me" is imperative, so a number of my looks may not be glamorous or skin bearing but they will be functional, comfortable and as chic as I can possibly make them. I want them to be the kind of looks you can draw real life inspiration from rather than just being aspirational!
I promised myself I’d throw everything I could into That New Dress this year and make it the absolute best I could. It wasn’t all that long ago I did the big rebrand with a new logo, new colour scheme and a whole new layout. Although there are a couple of tweaks I’d like to make here and there, I’m generally still pretty happy with it.
Fashion has always been a huge love of mine and although I feel like I lost my flair for it for a while, this blog has definitely reinvigorated this passion and hopefully that comes across. More curated, beautifully shot, fashion inspired posts is my main focus going forward. Having said that I do want to take this opportunity to say I’m not a natural clothes horse! I’m a piddly 5ft1, somewhere between a size UK8-10, I have chunky legs and less than perfect skin. Fortunately, I don’t have too many issues with my body; this is the way I am and I can choose to love it or waste time loathing it. However, I do worry that outfit looks don’t come across as well on me as they would on some taller, skinnier blogger. In truth there is absolutely nothing I can do about this, other than hope you will see past this and still be inspired by my style and the outfits I share.
The other thing which I feel is important to share is I want to stay as true to my style as possible. I’m generally a comfy and casual kinda gal, so there is no point in me putting together daytime looks which involve sky-high Louboutins and overly fitted clothes. Staying true to “me” is imperative, so a number of my looks may not be glamorous or skin bearing but they will be functional, comfortable and as chic as I can possibly make them. I want them to be the kind of looks you can draw real life inspiration from rather than just being aspirational!
I’m always looking for feedback and constructive criticism, I think a lot of bloggers are too quick to jump down people’s throats and label them “haters” when they provide any kind of constructive feedback. Hearing and knowing all the things you currently dislike about this blog can only help me improve and create a more inspiring place for people to lose themselves in for just a few minutes.
As always thank you for your continued support and taking the time to read That New Dress, it means the absolute WORLD to me! Big love!! xx
