“A woman makes an outfit with her own accessories” – Oscar de le Renta
I think a lot of busy, working women are guilty of throwing on their outfit of day, grabbing the same handbag from yesterday and running out the door. In an age of rushing about, remembering to “accessorise”, is a waning priority. This leads onto a further problem- we all have a drawer full of necklaces, bracelets, scarves and headbands which we thought in store would be the perfect finishing touch – they haven’t seen the light of day since. Therefore, I find most of my friends and colleagues won’t spend on those fun statement pieces perfect for livening up an outfit. However, as Oscar says dressing is all about the accessories and those personal finishing touches, so…
I have a solution….PRIMARK!
I’m actually a big fan of what they do and what they have to offer. I think they manage to achieve on trend pieces at incredible prices. Those that look at it with snobbery and a judgemental eye…. Shame on you! I do, of course, have concerns about how they produce their products but this is another post and I’ll list the reasons of why I am a supporter there.
I was quite late coming to the Primark party but I soon became an advocate of their accessories department when I haphazardly ended up in their Tottenham Court Road Store. I grabbed a necklace while working my way to the cash desk, little did I realise it would be the most complimented and worn necklace I own. Now every three to six months I trundle down to Primark purely to check out their accessories selection.
I always find fabulous pieces – think Mawi, Shourouk and Erickson Beamon – esque – but without the crazy price tags. It’s great they offer those on trend, statement pieces which may only be right for a season or two. I’ve never picked up a piece I haven’t got some kind of wear out of. To give you an idea here is my latest shopping haul –
(All the prices are included in the captions below. These were purchased from the Tottenham Court Road store only last week so they should still be available in store. Be quick though!):

Thank you to Andrew Martin for allowing me to use their fabulous showroom.
