It's so incredibly versatile and as the shoulder pads aren't as much of a statement as the Balenciaga one, it's actually much easier to wear.

Balenciaga has to be the brand of the moment and I’ve fallen head over heels for them.  I know a lot of people are going gaga over their “Runners” and “Knife Boots”, but for me, I’m all about their ready-to-wear.

They have hit the nail on the head when it comes to wearable but chic, statement pieces which can be styled up or down.

Their current collection has a definite nod to the 90s.  Think plenty of blue wash denim, high waisted jeans and outlandish branding.

Number 1 on my wish list is the “Like a Man Denim Jacket” which takes my love of oversized jackets to a whole other level (check it out HERE)!  I’m currently in the midst of saving up for it as this is a piece I have to HAVE in my wardrobe!

I also really love the “Boxy Denim Jacket” which I think is from the previous season, although it is still available (see it HERE).  This one is all about the shoulders with its almighty shoulder pads.  I absolutely adore the statement and silhouette this jacket creates but buying two expensive denim jackets is out of the question.

Thankfully, good ol’ ZARA answered all my prayers with this incredible dupe for £49.99.  Hello bargain!

Every year I buy one amazing jacket from ZARA which I wear to death and this is 2017’s one.  To say I am currently obsessed with it is an understatement.

It’s so incredibly versatile and as the shoulder pads aren’t as much of a statement as the Balenciaga one, it’s actually much easier to wear.  I wanted to show just how many different ways it can be styled so this is the first look out of three.  Two more are to follow!

I adore how this jacket looks juxtaposed next to something really pretty, like this lace dress.  I think it adds an edge to what could be quite a frou-frou and pretty look.

Generally, my favourite way to wear this jacket is shrugged off the shoulders, as again it straddles the line between casual yet statement.  It gives that vibe of “put together” without trying too hard.

Essentially what makes this jacket so great is that it’s a chameleon.  It can be feminine, masculine, casual, statement, perfect for the day or gorgeous in the evening.  I have it in the size small and it fits perfectly.  With a lot of jackets, I’ll often size up to get that oversized look but with this, I advise getting your usual size as it is designed to come up big.

Stay tuned for two more looks over the next few days!

Outfit details: Jacket – ZARA (find HERE) | Dress – True Decadence (find HERE or in Petite sizing HERE – FYI I highly recommend sizing up with this as the lace is very delicate and easily rips so it’s best if it’s not toO fitted to avoid tearing) | Belt – Hermes (similar HERE & HERE) | Bow Hair Tie – Matalan (similar HERE & HERE) | Shoes – Alexander Wang (similar HERE on SALE & HERE from the high street) | Bag – Chanel (similar HERE & HERE)

  1. I’m not a fan of shoulder pads because I grew up during the eighties and nineties when they were popular so I still am traumatized from being forced to wear them, and boxy shapes can be unflattering for anyone who has curves or a large chest. I do like denim jackets though and they are having a moment right now. Glad you found a great dupe for the Balenciaga one that you have your eyes on.

Whaaaaat?! Girl your wardrobe is literally one of the best ever. EVER. This Balenciaga-dupe jacket is perfect, and even more so when paired with the romantic white lace dress (and dreamy Chanel!).

  4. Absolutely in love with how you styled the oversized denim jacket here Dominique! I think the combination of a very feminine & chic dress with this gorgeous blue jacket is perfect to add that edge that it’s so in right now ♥ I have a similar piece that I thrifted at a vintage fair and I can’t wait to style it this autumn with a few layers underneath. Much love
