There is one particular piece of clothing on this blog which gets more attention than anything else.  Even if I’m wearing it out and about, people stop me in the street to ask where it’s from.  Unfortunately, I bought them from one of The Outnet’s infamous clearance sales so I’ve never been able to point people in the right direction as to where to get them… until now!

For those that don’t know what I’m referring to, it is these Iris and Ink navy blue culottes:

As I’ve received numerous emails and comments about them I’ve always been on the lookout for a good alternative.  When I spotted these grey/taupe beauties I knew I had found a winner.  I love the colour of these, the movement they create, but most of all, I love the £40 price tag (click HERE to check them out)!

The reason I’m such a fan of this wide leg culottes-style trouser is because they’re so versatile.  They manage to bridge that gap between statement and sophisticated.  Fortunately, I no longer have to work in an office and adhere to a corporate dress code but for those that do these are a great option.  With these you still look fashion led as well as office appropriate.

The other thing which is great about these is you can wear them to work and then if you have an event in the evening whack on a pair of heels, add a jacket and you’re good to go.  I love pieces which can be restyled with ease and work for a multitude of occasions.

Almost anything can be paired with these from a tee to a button-down shirt or a cashmere sweater to a silk cami.  They’re such a great base for any look and if you’re someone who likes to get you’re cost per wear, these are the trousers to buy!

As if that isn’t enough they’re also incredibly comfortable! Plus, those wide legs high a multitude of sins.  Whenever I’m having a fat day and feeling bleugh, we all have them, these are what I reach for.

  1. You absolutely suit these culottes, both in your original navy blue find, as well as the new taupe version! I’m yet to get around to trying culottes, but you make a convincing argument babe – looking as chic as ever!
