In my teen years, I use to be able to jump on and off planes and stay fresh as a daisy.  Now I've hit 30, not so much!

Finally, I’ve got the whole flying thing down to a T.  In my teen years, I use to be able to jump on and off planes and stay fresh as a daisy.  Now I’ve hit 30, not so much!  Over the last 18 months, I’ve established my travel bag must-haves to keep my skin, mind and body as fresh as possible, even on a long haul flight.

I always have a travel beauty bag prepped and primed, so I don’t have to worry about forgetting my essentials.  It makes packing so simple as I can quickly grab my travel bag, throw it into my carry-on and I’m good to go.

If you’re looking to compile a perfect travel beauty bag I highly recommend starting with the Bioderma Beauty Essentials Kit (shop it HERE).   Firstly, the clear makeup bag is ideal for getting through security without having to decant everything into one of those plastic sandwich bags.  Secondly, it’s a perfect size, neither too big or too small.

My biggest concern about flying is my skin dehydrating.  As soon as I get on the plane I follow a strict routine to prevent me breaking out.  Bioderma Micellar Water (shop it HERE) is an obvious must-have.  I use it from the second I’m on the plane.  As a side note, the great thing about the 100ml bottle in the Bioderma Beauty Essentials Kit is it’s refillable so once I’m back on UK soil I can just fill it back up.

Next, I slather myself in Bioderma’s Hydrabio Rich Moisturising Care face cream (shop it HERE) which is wonderfully thick and hydrating without making your skin excessively oily.  This is the only face cream I now travel with.

My final step is to put on a thick layer of Glamglow ThirstyMud (shop it HERE).  The humidity of a plane is similar to that of the desert, so the more moisture you can add to your skin the better.  The ThirstyMud mask is without a shadow of a doubt the most hydrating product I’ve ever tried.  I even put it on my lips, to prevent them getting chapped.  I’ll repeat this routine every couple of hours while I’m up in the air.

Your hands, elbows, cuticles, etc. are not immune from drying out either.  I suffer from very dry skin on my body, particularly around my arms and hands.  Rather than carry a full-blown body moisturiser I use the Bioderma Atoderm Ultra Repair Hand & Nail Cream (shop it HERE) from the Bioderma Essentials Kit which does the job.

In terms of hair care, I’m generally pretty low maintenance with my hair anyway.  However, as it’s really long at the moment I take my trusty Moroccan Oil (shop it HERE) to prevent it getting overly tangled and frazzled.

Deodorant is an obvious one which I use at the start and end of every flight and if it’s a long haul one, as and when I need it!  For some reason which I cannot explain, I prefer men’s deodorant to women’s.

My final must-haves are This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (shop it HERE) and Rituals Relaxing Serum (shop it HERE) which aid me to sleep.  Falling asleep when flying can be tricky and this majorly helps me relax and release any tension.

It is worth noting I continue to use all these products throughout my trip regardless of whether I’m in the city or sunning myself on a beach.  I can honestly say these are all the best of the best when it comes to travel beauty bag must-haves.
