I couldn’t not write about Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Magic Facial Dry Mask as they’ve revolutionised the way I use and view face masks.  Since discovering it I haven’t reached for any of my other masks, as this one is all you need; yes, I know that’s a big claim!

There are a number of things which make it so great.  First and foremost, is the almost instantaneous results.  Within a few hours you look revitalised and glowing with less redness.  Plus, if that isn’t enough the results keep on coming, as the bio-mimetic system provides prolonged release of ingredients, giving it time to immerse into your complexion.

Secondly, it’s so simple to use.  Unlike the sheet masks we’re used to seeing, these are dry.  They’re not slippery or slimy.  Personally, I find sheet masks can be a bit of a faff as they slide and drip all over the place but these couldn’t be easier to use.  You simply pop it over your face and hook the top and bottom loops over your ears to keep it in place.  Gently massage the textile fabric mask which has been impregnated with tiny vectors of Charlotte’s MAGIC actives including vitamins, floral extracts, peptides, oils and butters which are delivered directly into the third layer of the epidermis.  Then sit back for 15 minutes.

Although Charlotte Tilbury does recommend cleaning and cleansing your face before using it, you can actually apply it over your makeup if you need an instant boost.  As it’s dry it doesn’t ruin, smudge or run your makeup.  How brilliant is that?

Also, you can get 3 uses out of each mask which makes it a little easier to justify the price tag.  As it isn’t a wet formula, it doesn’t harbour bacteria thus allowing for multiuse.  Priced at £18 each (£6 per mask use) or £60 for a box of four (£5 per mask use), I will be the first to admit these aren’t the cheapest face mask options out there.  However, if you’re looking for something that actually works with incredibly fast results, this is it!

The only flaw is the results aren’t as long lasting as I would have hoped.  Although I would definitely agree it provides expert facial results within 15 minutes, they’re not as long lasting as if you go for an actual facial.  To maintain optimum results I find myself reaching for it at least twice a week to give me that much needed boost.

  1. I love sheet masks personally but have never tried a dry one before. I can only imagine how interesting it is. It does sound like it works well though with the flaw you mentioned, the results aren’t as long lasting which is a little disappointing but I guess this will also be a hit for people who does like that gloopy, cold feeling of a typical sheet mask. I would give this a try for sure. x

  2. I have a serious addiction to face masks. I need all the help I can get and I can’t always afford to go to a spa. I have yet to try a dry face mask but I love the fact that you can get up to 3 uses out of each mask. Thanks for sharing
