Not everything Three Floor does is to my taste but when they get it right, boy do they do so!

Hello dream dress, I don’t have anywhere to wear you yet, but I had to have you!

I’m not usually someone that gets excited by impractical and dressy clothes.  However, with this dress it was love at first sight.  I try to invest in pieces I know I can get ample wear out of and can dress up or down.  Unfortunately, this full-length number is definitely one you need to have a special occasion in order to wear it and sadly I don’t have one in the diary yet. If anyone has a big fancy party they’d like to invite me to, I have a dress ready and waiting!

As we all know, I am a sucker for lace and ruffles and this dress definitely ticks those boxes.  It is from Three Floor which is one of my favourite brands for statement dresses which don’t cost the earth.

I first discovered Three Floor about 4 years ago when I bought the most amazing cobalt blue dress with stunning lace sleeves (you can see it HERE in an embarrassingly old post – I’m full on cringing from it!).  Since then they’ve had a bit of a rollercoaster ride.

For those that don’t know the backstory, Three Floor, was originally a collaboration between Yvonne Hoang and Han Chong.  A few years later they parted ways and Han Chong began Self Portrait.  Following the split, Self Portrait, enjoyed meteoritic success.

Three Floor, on the other hand, faltered and struggled to move forward after the split.  Although finally, after a couple of years in the wilderness, they seem to have had a rebirth and are back on their A-game.  Not everything Three Floor does is to my taste but when they get it right, boy do they do so!

At £440, I don’t want to say this dress is affordable but it certainly isn’t expensive for what you get.  The quality of the fabric is amazing, the cut is perfection and the way it moves is a sheer delight! If you’re looking for a statement dress, then Three Floor should be your first port of call.

One word of warning, their full-length dresses are very long, so if you’re short, like me, then even with heels it drags along the floor.  Personally, this doesn’t bother me too much but I do have to be careful not to trip over!

  1. Now that’s a stunning dress…! And I hear you, I’m usually only buying stuff I know I’m going to wear, but sometimes we find a beautiful piece and we just have to get it… In my case it’s a vintage Laura Ashley dress, completely princess-like and completely unwearable; it looks like a (beautiful) costume when I put it on. But oh well, I love looking at it!
