As you all know I love a bit of preloved fashion. Most of the time I sound like a broken record because I talk about it SO much. I’m not going to bore you by repeating myself about the merits of shopping preloved yet again. You can read a number of my previous blogposts about how, why and where you can shop preloved which I’ve linked below:

Everything I Know About Preloved Chanel Ready-to-Wear

One way of shopping which boomed in 2020, mostly due to lockdown, was via Instagram Stories and Instagram Lives. This is particularly prevalent in the preloved luxury fashion sector. With the help of Instagram Stories, sellers who once relied on brick & mortar to chat and engage with their customers, can now do it socially distanced online. Shoppers and businesses have really missed that interactive part of shopping and Instagram Stories has successfully bridged that gap. Companies can actually “sell” to their buyers as they’re able to chat directly to them.

Stories also give us, the shoppers, the opportunity to engage much more. We can easily ask questions, replay stories over and over again to get a better look or take screenshots to zoom in. In general, stories are able to provide far more detailed insight into the condition, movement and details of a piece, than a website with static images can.

Preloved luxury fashion Instagram accounts are currently hitting all the right spots and their stock is flying off the shelves, virtually. These are the best of the best when it comes to reputable preloved fashion Instagram accounts to follow with stock which will make you drool. Side note: I am keeping it real and sharing the positives as well as the negatives. Even though buying preloved is substantially less than shopping new, it can still be a heap of money, so it’s important to keep my review of these businesses 100% real!

Blaise Ruby Loves

Blaise Ruby Loves predominantly focuses on selling preloved handbags and accessories (although you do get the occasional pair of shoes or piece of clothing thrown in). She does 1 drop a week on Friday at 11am and usually sells everything on the same day. If you see something you like, you need to act fast. She chats through each item on Instagram Stories and adds photos of her wearing each piece. Blaise is one of the most thorough sellers when it comes to sharing every little detail. You are very unlikely to find any nasty surprises when you buy from her. She also has a nice range of brands and price points, usually somewhere between £100-£3000. While she does have a lot of luxury brands you can also get the likes of Michael Kors and Aspinal too.

I have personally sold 4 of my bags through her. All of them sold and 3 sold on the same day. Her commission rates are between 25%-40% which makes her pretty competitive especially as she has such a quick sell-through rate.

Luxury Promise & Vintage Luxury Promise

Luxury Promise has become a big player in the preloved luxury market. Their selection is pretty incredible and while they focus on the big luxury labels, there are still some good deals to snap up. Their subsidiary Luxury Promise Vintage is fantastic and sources some amazing pieces, particularly vintage Chanel. They have a number of Chanel bags for under £1500 which can be difficult to find at that price point. Plus, they offer handbag restoration, personal shopping and authentication service, so they really are a one-stop shop. My only word of warning is they underplay wear and tear, often referring to items as perfect, when they are more like good condition, but unlike a lot of other preloved sellers, they do offer a 14-day return policy, so if you’re not happy with the item you can return it (although the cost of returning it is your responsibility). I recently made a purchase from them which is yet to arrive, so if you follow me on Instagram, I’ll most likely do an update and unboxing over there.

If you wish to sell your items through them they offer instant cash, consignment or a credit note to spend in-store (how much you receive depends on which option you go for). I have sold through them once and although it was a little disorganised and I had to do a lot of chasing, I eventually sold my bag for a reasonable price and was paid quickly.

Sellier

Sellier is prolific on Instagram Stories. They share up to 100 stories a day on Instagram ranging from luxury bags, shoes, ready-to-wear and accessories. Although they focus solely on luxury brands they have a good range of pricing. If you’re after a Hermes Birkin or Kelly, they are worth a follow because they always seem to have good ones. Whether you want brand new or preloved they’ve got a great selection in an assortment of colours, sizes and leathers. My only concern is given they don’t accept any returns, I feel they could focus more on wear and tear as they hardly mention it at all. They regularly say “refer to photos to see wear” rather than talk through it or actively point it out.

I’ve contacted them several times about selling some items on my behalf but they’ve always been quite dismissive. I get the impression they predominantly sell repeatedly for a select number of people. Unless you have Chanel, Hermes or possibly Dior or Louis Vuitton, they’re unlikely to take anything on from you.

Reloved Again

I’m torn about sharing this one because Reloved Again has some serious bargains and I kind of want to keep it as my little secret! Their pricing is insanely good. I honestly don’t know how they do it. They predominantly focus on premium brands, rather than luxury, but they do get the odd gem (i.e. Louis Vuitton and Chanel handbags). If you’re after a good quality cashmere sweater or pair of black trousers, I would seriously check out Reloved Again first.

I do find their Instagram Stories a bit manic. They whizz through everything so quickly and don’t really show anything in great detail but they usually link each item directly to their website which has more photos including close-ups.

Class Les

My last one is a bit of a cheat as they aren’t a preloved Instagram account, they only sell new items at a discount. However, they sell exclusively on Instagram and as they source some amazing pieces they’re worth a mention. They tend to get early access to a lot of sales and sample sales, so not only are you getting to shop first come, first served, you also can pick up a bargain right from the comfort of your own home. I’m yet to purchase from them but I watch their account like a hawk!
