London What's Up: Secret Spa

Secret Spa is possibly the best kept beauty secret in London (and surrounding counties).  In simplest terms, it’s Uberlux for mobile beauty.  They provide 5 star treatments to your home, office or hotel.  It works via an app or online where you can book a wide range of beauty and wellness treatments and as little as 3 hours later you can be enjoying a treatment in the comfort of your own home thanks to their army of mobile technicians.

What I really LOVE about Secret Spa is the prices aren’t obscene.  As if having a treatment in the comfort of your own home, at a moment’s notice, at a convenient time for you when a lot of beauty salons/spas wouldn’t even be open isn’t good enough, then not having to pay over the odds is even better!

I wanted to share my experience with Secret Spa so you can see first hand what they’re all about.  On this occasion, I booked my appointment ahead of time.  The joy of Secret Spa is the flexibility, you can either schedule something last minute or book in advance if you’ve got a special occasion coming up which you want to look gorgeous for!

This time around I booked my appointment over my laptop.  Although now I’ve downloaded the app, I’ll most likely be using this in future as it’s so simple to use and perfect if you’re always on the move, like me.

I went for an “Express Makeup” service and had the lovely makeup artist, Gemma.  Boy does this girl know what she’s doing!  She definitely came prepared with the best makeup collection I’ve seen and managed to take me from looking somewhat like a monster (apologies for the bare-faced photos!) to a million dollars.

Being with Gemma was like having one of my girlfriends over.  We chatted about makeup, exchanging tips on the best highlighters and palettes.  She taught me new makeup tricks and we gossiped and laughed endlessly.  The whole thing was such a fun, pleasurable and relaxing experience.  I didn’t have to worry about getting to my appointment on time or rushing around Central London and getting on and off the sticky summer tubes.  Instead, I wore my cosiest clothes and got to snuggle up on my sofa.  The whole experience was perfection!
